Old Settler Dies Today At M'Causland, IA.
F. Henning, 92 Years Old, Passes Away Early This Morning
McCausland, Ia, Jan 21. (Special.) -- Frederick Henning, 92 years old, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Helble, at 6 o'clock this morning. Death was due to old age.
Born in Germany on May 1, 1829, Mr. Henning was educated in that country. In his early twenties, Mr. Henning came to America, settling in Davenport. After a few years residence in that city he moved to McCausland and he has resided here since.
Forty-five years ago Mr. Henning was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Logstiup, who preceded him in death 21 years ago.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Helble, and four sons, Louis, Otto, Fred and Charles. Seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchildren allso survive.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon with services in the Methodist church. Burial will be made at the McCausland cemetery.

McCausland, Ia., Jan 27 -- The funeral of Frederick Henning was held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Helbe Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock with services at the M. F. church here at 2 o'clock, Rev. C. H. Byers officiating. The pall bearers were: John Broderius, Henry Helberg, F. J. Lessin, Wm. Helble, Peter Jurgens and Leonard Litscher, Sr.
Mr. Henning was born in Germany May 1st, 1829, being 91 years, 8 months and 21 days old. He received his education in the country schools and at the age of 14 years he took a four-year course in blacksmithing. After he attained the age of 21 years as was customary in that country, he served 3 years in the army in the artillery, receiving well-deserved credit for alertness and obedience. At the age of 25 years he came with his father to this country, where he settled in Boston, Mass. There he met and married his first wife, Louise Isalo, and to this union were born one son Charles.
From there they came to Davenport where he practiced the blacksmith trade for about 14 years after which he moved to Buffalo township on a farm, hoping to benefit his wife's health, but to no avail for she passed away soon afterward.
Several years later he met and married Jennie Logstrup and to this union were born four children, Otto, Louis, Mrs. Emma Helble and Fred. He also leaves to mourn his loss, 19 grand children and 5 great grand children.

Hold Funeral for Pioneer Resident of M'Causland, Ia.
McCausland, Iowa, Jan 26 (Special). The funeral of Frederick Henning was held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Helble, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services at the M. E. church, Rev. C. H. Byers officiating. Interment was in the McCausland Cemetery.
The pallbearers were John Broderius, Henry Helberg, J. J. Lessin, William Helble, Peter Jurgens, and Leonard Litscher, Sr.
The deceased was born in Germany May 1, 1829, having attained the age of 91 years. His long life was filled with many thrilling experiences as well as adversities and hardships. He received his education in the country schools of Germany and at the age of 14 entered into apprenticeship as a blacksmith. After he attained his 21st year, as was customary in that country, he served in the army in the artillery for three years, receiving well deserved credit for alertness and obedience. At the age of 15 he came to this country with his father, landing in Boston, Mass., where he met and married his first wife, Louise Isalo. To this union were born one child, Charles. From there they came to Davenport, where he was an efficient blacksmith for 14 years. He then moved to Buffalo township on a farm hoping to benefit his wife's health, but to no avail as she soon passed away. Several years later he married Jennie Logstrup, who preceded him in death 21 years ago. To this union were born four children, Otto, Louis, Mrs. Emma Helble and Fred.
